Mission StatementWest Virginia University President E. Gordon Gee established a Bureaucracy SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) Committee in 2014 with the sole mission of cutting bureaucracy to create savings, which can then be redirected into the core mission of the University. The Committee members have become known as “Bureaucracy Busters.”
Their primary goal is to identify existing University policies and processes which are overly complicated and limit our ability to think big and be strategic.
“Bureaucracy Busters” are committed to:
- Infusing technology into our business processes.
- Transforming processes and systems to simplify how business is conducted.
- Transiting from transaction-based approval process to a post-audit review.
